Non-Profit Work

I have the good fortune to be able to lend my time, talent, and treasure to organizations that are doing great work out in the world.

Board Member and past Co-Chair, National Center for Victims of Crime

The National Center for Victims of Crime (NCVC) is a leading national nonprofit dedicated to advancing victims’ rights and supporting survivors of all types of crime. Founded in 1985, NCVC emerged from a growing need to ensure that victims and their families received meaningful support, fair treatment, and a voice within the criminal justice system. Over the past four decades, the organization has become a trusted resource for policymakers, advocates, and survivors nationwide.

NCVC provides a wide range of services, including direct assistance through its VictimConnect Resource Center, which offers confidential emotional support, crisis intervention, information, and referrals for victims of crime across the country. The organization also leads training and technical assistance for law enforcement, service providers, and community organizations to strengthen trauma-informed and victim-centered responses. In addition, NCVC engages in policy reform and national advocacy, working to improve laws, expand victims’ rights, and ensure equitable access to services.

From supporting communities impacted by mass violence to helping individual survivors navigate complex systems, NCVC remains committed to one mission: ensuring that every victim of crime is heard, supported, and empowered.

The National Compassion Fund (NCF) provides a safe, transparent way for the public to donate directly to victims of mass violence. Established by the National Center for Victims of Crime, the Fund ensures that 100% of contributions go directly to survivors and the families of those killed — without fees, intermediaries, or administrative deductions. Created in response to community confusion and fraud that often follow mass tragedies, the NCF works closely with victims, families, and local officials to design fair, victim-centered distribution plans. From school shootings to large-scale attacks, the National Compassion Fund has helped communities across the country support those most profoundly affected in the aftermath of tragedy.
