Non-Profit Work
I have the good fortune to be able to lend my time, talent, and treasure to organizations that are doing great work out in the world.
I am the Co-Chair of the National Center for Victims of Crime
“The National Center for Victims of Crime is a nonprofit organization that advocates for victims’ rights, trains professionals who work with victims, and serves as a trusted source of information on victims’ issues. After more than 25 years, we remain the most comprehensive national resource committed to advancing victims’ rights and helping victims of crime rebuild their lives.
The National Center is, at its core, an advocacy organization committed to — and working on behalf of — crime victims and their families. Rather than focus the entire organization’s work on one type of crime or victim, the National Center addresses all types of crime.”
I am very proud to have been part of the early conversations that helped launched the National Compassion Fund, which provides a single, trusted way for the public to give directly to victims of mass casualty crimes. 100% of every dollar raised, is donated to those directly impacted.
Since 2005, I served as the Executive Director for The Youth Project; a non-profit organization that provides FREE mental health services to teens struggling with depression, suicide, domestic abuse, neglect, anxiety, substance abuse, peer pressure, sexual identity, and communication, etc. In the 20 years that the agency was open, it provided outreach, crisis support, one-one counseling, and support groups to more than 35,000 teens and their families.
Lots of additional resources are available if you need/want some support. Check out the list of incredible organizations that I have worked with or can highly recommend:
